Republic of Guinea Bissau congratulates Mamata on her re-election as Chief Minister

Guinea Bissau, a country in West Africa, and a member of United Nations and African Union, has expressed interest in partnership with the government of West Bengal after the re-election of Mamata Banerjee as the Chief Minister.

KOLKATA, India - May 26, 2016 - s4story -- Republic of Guinea Bissau, a country in the West Africa region and a prominent member of the African Union, today congratulated Ms Mamata Banerjee over her re-election as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. The wishes came from Rajeshwar Prasad, ex-officio Cabinet Minister of the country.

Mr Prasad focused on Ms Banerjee's approach on industrial growth and offered a branch of partnership. "We are pleased to note the significant faith and trust reposed by the great people of West Bengal in you, and we hope to associate with your government on various industrial, political, and economic matters in the five years to come", said the letter.
Guinea Bissau has expressed interest in partnering with the newly formed government, and Mr Prasad has been associated with investments in the state in the past in varying capacities. Mr Prasad is also the founder of Private Equity firm Idein Ventures, along with his partners Ashwin Srivastava and Mahesh Vellaboyina.

In separate letters, Mr Prasad has also congratulated Mr Pinarayi Vijayan of Kerala, Mr Sarbananda Sonowal of Assam, and Ms Jayalalithaa Jayaram of Tamil Nadu, on their election as Chief Ministers of their respective states.

Ms Banerjee shall be sworn in as the Chief Minister of West Bengal on Friday in the swearing-in ceremony planned at Red Road. Though the ceremony is being boycotted by a number of political leaders, she has also received congratulatory messages from leaders across the globe.
