Grief, Love Family, and the Tribulations of Adoption
S For Story/10536475
See a raw, real look at that world in the latest addition to Michelle Thorne's Both/And series
BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. - s4story -- Michelle Thorne's highly praised Both/And Series receives its third installment Both Cleaving and Cleaving (TouchPoint Press, April 24, 2022). Birth-mother Luca finds love, challenge, and a new understanding in major league pitcher Boaz Stone, an adoptee whose own birth mother is estranged to him.
A raw story about choice and chance, Both Cleaving and Cleaving presents an intimate look at adoption and family preservation. A birth mother herself, Thorne provides an accurate representation of an adoption triad dynamic and living through the love and grief of placing a child for adoption. Through Luca's perseverance, Both Cleaving and Cleaving shows us that the choices we make don't always define us in ways we expect.
About the Book
Luca Jones thought choosing to walk out of the hospital without her child was excruciating. Five years later, she knows that was a cakewalk compared to daily living with that decision. She has become passionate about a few things: 1. advocacy for birth parents, 2. advocacy for vulnerable and traumatized children, and 3. fighting for family preservation. She is sure there is nothing and no one can change her mind.
More on S For Story
Boaz Stone is an adoptee adopted from foster care who detests his birth mother. When Luca meets Boaz, she is determined to change his perception of birth mothers. The two begin to spend time together, and before long, they fall for each other. But when Luca dismisses her cousin's neglect of her daughter, she and Boaz discover they have differing ideas about protecting children. The law gets involved, and Luca must decide whether to fight for her cousin's family preservation or if advocating for her cousin's vulnerable daughter means splitting them apart.
Both Cleaving and Cleaving (published April 24, 2022) is available through major book retailers in eBook ($4.99), paperback ($15.99), Wholesale from Ingram and TouchPoint Press.
