STOWE, Vt. - Dec. 5, 2018 - s4story -- The Scout Film Festival is an international juried competition of films submitted by young talent. In its third year, the festival is held in charming Stowe, Vermont the weekend of January 4-6, 2019. The festival includes screenings of more than 187 films, gatherings, and seminars.
As a proud Supporting Sponsor of the Scout Film Festival, Topnotch Resort will host the VIP Kick-Off Party on January 4. The Scout Film Festival (Scout) is an annual international event that celebrates emerging filmmakers - aged 24 and under - through short film. The non-profit organization does not charge its young filmmakers a fee to enter the annual competition. For the 2018 competition, they received 2,164 submissions from young storytellers in 105 different countries, almost half of them female. Scout honors the passion, talent, and accomplishments of these young storytellers by showcasing their films. The Scout Film Festival Emerging Storytellers Grant is supported by American film director Colin Trevorrow. Making short films since he was 12 years old, Trevorrow directed the indie film Safety Not Guaranteed and the blockbuster film Jurassic World, and also co-wrote the script to Jurassic World and its 2018 sequel.
