Vampires and A Bike Messenger Tangle in This New Book

SEATTLE - March 12, 2018 - s4story -- The author of the best-selling book Gangsters and Organized Crime in Buffalo has released his second novel in a month. Michael F. Rizzo is best-known for his non-fiction work including Buffalo Beer, Washington Beer, and The Glory Days of Buffalo Shopping.

Bloody Valentine is the first book in a series about bike messenger Rex Carlton. Set in Buffalo, New York, Rex Carlton sets out on a new career as a bike messenger and becomes entangled with a vampire coven in the city. When he gets too close to finding out their secret, one of the vampires decides to put a stop to him.

"Like my second book in this series, Double Rush," Rizzo said, "I wanted to paint a picture of Buffalo and a guy that hates his job and wants to find something new and rewarding. That was me back in 2001. I quit my job to run a bike messenger company in Buffalo."

Bloody Valentine is the second fiction release by Rizzo, but the prequel to the Rex Carlton Mysteries series. Book 3, Screaming in the Night is almost complete and will come out this summer.

Why vampires? Aren't they passe? "I have experience working in the medical field and had an idea for humans stealing blood. After I did some research, the story became clearer."

Rizzo began his publishing career in 2005 and has nine published books. He was a bike messenger in Buffalo for seven years and also had a successful comic book TV show in the 90s. Originally from Buffalo, New York, Rizzo and his family moved to Washington in 2013.
