CHICAGO - s4story -- 1893 Chicago's Columbian Exposition explores the World's Fair via a collection of photos taken during the event as well as the words and modern photography taken by the books author Michael Finney.

This book was Finney's debut and is self-published via Amazon. "I'm really excited to release this revamped second edition which includes new images inside and on the cover as well as editorial additions and corrections", he said before adding, "It's wonderful to release this into the hands of folks that appreciate the legacy of the event."

This project started when the author acquired a book of official photographs published in 1893 to document the first Chicago World's Fair from an antiquarian book dealer. After creating a thread of images and commentary on Twitter, Finney decided to gather up the entries and attempt to craft a narrative from the individual posts. "Delving into this history has been a really organic process that I just sort of fell backwards into during 2018." The project has since expanded into a documentary film, a soundtrack, and a line of merchandise.
