Artist Julian Raven Will Be At Natural Bridge Showing His Painting 'Natural Connections' On Good Friday
S For Story/10473190
ROANOKE, Va. & LEXINGTON, Va. - s4story -- British born and nationally recognized artist, Julian Raven and author, musician and educator Gloria Raven will be at Natural Bridge on Good Friday, April 2nd, at 1:00 p.m.
Artist Julian Raven will be presenting to the public, his oil painting of Natural Bridge - 'Natural Connections'.
Gloria Raven will make a puppetry presentation and introduction of Jackie Jamis, the main character of her children's book 'Jackie Jamis - Jumping in the Hay', as Jackie Jamis discovers Natural Bridge, another stop on the Raven's cross country tour 'Rediscovering America Road Trip & Pilgrimage.'
Julian and Gloria Raven have been traveling the East Coast for the last three months in their motorhome. Having seen many of the natural wonders of the eastern United States, from New York to Florida, especially their last stop at the awe inspiring Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina.
Their current stop at Natural Bridge State Park in Virginia is another American treasure to rediscover and celebrate in the arts. Raven hopes to draw attention to this lesser known state park, as it is truly a natural wonder, a national treasure and deserving of national attention.

During this Resurrection season, Friday being 'Good Friday', makes for a marvelous synchronicity of events that captures the spirit of the Raven's American road trip & Pilgrimage. God is intrinsically wrapped in our American story and marvelously revealed through America's majestic, vast and varied landscapes.
Natural Bridge in Virginia, is an exceptional and spectacular rising rock natural structure, a natural and divine cathedral of sorts. President Thomas Jefferson said: "It is impossible for the emotions arising from the sublime, to be felt beyond what they are here: so beautiful an arch, so elevated, so light, and springing as it were up to heaven, the rapture of the spectator is really indescribable!"
In these dark and trying times, rediscovering God by reconnecting with the beauty, purity and revelation in nature, can remind Americans where we have come from and to where we need to return, hence Raven's painting 'Natural Connections'. America in essence needs a spiritual resurrection, to reanimate and strengthen faith so as to persevere through these difficult times, in hopes of a better America tomorrow.
