Australian 3D printing studio launches customisable magnetic Fidget Slider built for everday

S For Story/10696439
COORANBONG, Australia - s4story -- Cooranbong, NSW — Satrah 3D, a family-run 3D printing studio in the Lake Macquarie region, has released its Fidget Slider: a pocket-sized magnetic sensory fidget that buyers customise themselves, choosing the colours and the surface texture before it's printed to order.

The Fidget Slider is two interlocking pieces with small magnets set inside. Push the halves past each other with a thumb and the magnets pull them into place with a soft catch at each end, then reset for the next slide. It works one-handed, in a pocket, under a desk, or in a lap during a meeting, with no batteries, app or setup.

The customisation sets it apart from mass-produced fidgets. Buyers pick two colours for a mirrored two-tone build, where each colour wraps the outer shell of one piece and the insert of the other. They then choose from six surface textures, ranging from gentle to intense: Lined, Wavy Lines, Bubbles, Sprinkles, Grooved and Spiked. An optional Glide Tape upgrade adds a low-friction strip to one face for a smoother, near-silent slide suited to classrooms and shared offices.

"People reach for a slider to stay focused at work, to settle an anxious moment, or to redirect the urge to pick or bite," said Josh, who runs Satrah 3D with his partner Kate. "The texture and the glide do real work. A sensory seeker and someone who wants something subtle at their desk need different things in their hand, so we made it the buyer's choice rather than ours."

Each slider is printed to order in plant-based PLA at the studio in Cooranbong, then assembled, tuned and checked by hand before it ships. It measures around 55mm end to end and is priced at $15.99 AUD, with dispatch within one to three business days.

Satrah 3D has been printing fidgets, articulated dragons, sensory toys and cookie cutters from its Lake Macquarie studio since 2022, supplying occupational therapists, schools and gift shops across Australia and carrying more than 229 five-star customer reviews. The studio notes that the Fidget Slider, like all its fidgets, is a sensory tool rather than a medical device, and that it contains magnets and small parts, making it unsuitable for young children.
