Award-winning author Diana Colleen Explores Psychedelic Therapy, Climate Change and Billionaire-ism
S For Story/10693803
On A Joyful Rebellion podcast, Colleen discusses her journey from trauma and suicidality to healing through psychedelic-assisted therapy, becoming a facilitator, and writing her award-winning novel They Could Be Saviors.
SEATTLE - s4story -- Best-selling author Diana Colleen recently appeared on A Joyful Rebellion podcast, where she discussed her personal journey from trauma and suicidality to healing through psychedelic-assisted therapy, becoming a psychedelic facilitator, and writing her award-winning novel, They Could Be Saviors. The episode was released yesterday.
During the conversation with host James Walters, Colleen shares how a series of traumatic experiences ultimately led to a suicidal period in her forties. After finding healing through psychedelic-assisted therapy, she later trained as a psychedelic facilitator and became an advocate for the responsible use of these therapies in addressing trauma, depression, and personal transformation.

The interview explores how psychedelic-assisted therapy works, what participants can expect from the process, the historical reasons psychedelic substances were criminalized, and why researchers and clinicians are increasingly studying their therapeutic potential. Colleen also discusses the role these therapies can play in helping people reconnect with themselves, others, and the world around them.
The conversation also examines the inspiration behind They Could Be Saviors, a four-time award-winning eco-thriller that asks a provocative question: What if the only way to save the planet is to kidnap the billionaires contributing to its destruction? Through fiction, the novel explores themes of wealth, power, accountability, consciousness, and transformation.
Colleen's own story informs many of the themes explored in her work. She grew up in poverty, working at eleven years old to help support her household, and watched opportunities flow to others simply because they were born into wealth. Those experiences, combined with her later healing journey, helped shape her interest in scarcity, power, and the systems that influence human behavior.
