Kickstarter Launches June 2 with Exclusive Early Bird Rewards for Remastered Sci-Fi Classic
DENVER - s4story -- Sci-fi indie comics landmark series Nexus is set for a major comeback. BIG Studios has announced the Nexus Deluxe Hardcover Omnibus Volume One, with a Kickstarter campaign launching Monday morning, June 2, 2025. The campaign will reportedly feature exclusive 24-hour discounts and deals for early backers.
Co-created by Mike Baron and Steve Rude, Nexus quickly became a cult phenomenon in comics, with Newsarama hailing the series as "the greatest superhero comic of all time!" The story follows Nexus (a.k.a. Horatio Hellpop), a cosmic avenger wrestling with justice, morality, and the weight of his cosmic powers. Harlan Ellison, a writer famous for his work on Star Trek, Twilight Zone, and The Outer Limits repeatedly praised the series, saying it "glows with originality" and displays "enormous intelligence and inventiveness on each page."
This new deluxe hardcover omnibus—planned as the first in a four-volume set—collects the earliest adventures of Nexus in an oversized, remastered format, matching the quality of collected editions in the Marvel and DC omnibus lines. The first volume is scheduled to ship at the end of 2025, just in time to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the series which first debuted in 1981.
