Cancer Alliance Network's popular outdoor yoga fundraiser returns to Fort Myers on Feb. 28
S For Story/10684389
FORT MYERS, Fla. - s4story -- A popular outdoor yoga fundraising event, YogaCAN, is returning to Fort Myers on Feb. 28 in support of Cancer Alliance Network, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting local cancer patients on their healing journeys.
The event will be held at 9 a.m. on the Library Lawn at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. Led by local yoga instructor Blair Gonsenhauser, RYT, MSW with Yoga X Beats, the all-level yoga class welcomes ages 6+ for a morning of mind and body restoration, featuring yoga, live drumming, soulful beats and crystal bowl sound healing.
YogaCAN supports Cancer Alliance Network in its efforts to provide dignity for families with cancer in Collier and Lee counties through financial assistance, resources and support. The annual benefit began more than a decade ago as a community yoga class, JaneCAN, to rally support for breast cancer patient Jane Waltzer. Following her passing, Jane's husband and Cancer Alliance Network board member Joel Waltzer continued Jane's legacy of selfless service through the YogaCAN benefit. The annual event started in Naples before expanding to Lee County last year. YogaCAN Naples will be held in April.
