TOMS RIVER, N.J. - s4story -- CONTACT of Ocean & Monmouth Counties is reinforcing an important message this June: everyone deserves to feel heard, supported, and connected. As the organization recognizes Pride Month, National PTSD Awareness Month, and Men's Health Month, CONTACT continues its mission of providing compassionate, judgment-free listening to individuals throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties.
For more than 50 years, CONTACT has provided free, confidential crisis intervention, emotional support, and community resource referrals to residents of Ocean and Monmouth Counties 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Through trained telephone listeners, the organization offers a safe and supportive environment for individuals to express themselves openly and begin working through difficult moments.
June's national observances each highlight the importance of mental wellness and human connection. Pride Month recognizes the importance of acceptance, inclusion, and support for the LGBTQ+ community. National PTSD Awareness Month helps bring attention to the lasting impact trauma can have on individuals and families, while encouraging understanding and access to support. Men's Health Month serves as a reminder that mental health is an important part of overall well-being, and that seeking help is a sign of strength.
