Crofton Author-Facilitator Ann-Marie Maloney Joins the Dear Black Woman Anthology
S For Story/10671105
A letter about resting at the center of your soul, finding voice, and using art to heal; national release September 20, 2025.
CROFTON, Md. - s4story -- Ann-Marie Maloney, a writer, workshop facilitator, and founder of Becoming Enough. Becoming You, is a contributing author in the forthcoming Dear Black Woman Anthology, a national collection of first-person letters by Black women to their younger selves and to one another. The book releases September 20, 2025.
Maloney's letter speaks to a girl who learned to hide and a woman who now stands in the sun—vibrant and unapologetic. Anchored by the line, "I am so glad that you've learned to rest in the center of your soul," her message urges readers to lay down perfection, name their truth, and choose peace. She reflects on family, self-worth, and the steady work of reclaiming a voice.
Beyond the page, Maloney leads community programs that mirror these themes. Through B.E.B.Y., she creates spaces for women to heal and grow. She blends education, art, and advocacy in youth workshops and directs Poetic Voices, which uplifts young people through spoken word. She is also an author and host of the podcast About This Life, highlighting stories of purpose and healing.
