PORTLAND, Ore. - s4story -- The Imperfecta Gallery is excited to present Dark Cabinets, featuring artists from  Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Italy, Mexico, UK, and the USA.

On view March 5-28 2026, this invitational group art show focuses on all things dark, wondrous, odd, beautifully puzzling and spectacularly bizarre – think Edgar Allan Poe sitting in a Cabinet of Wonders while reading George Orwell, while Hitchcock's Vertigo plays on TV. Or maybe Joseph Cornell having a night cap with Athanasius Kircher in a crustacean-covered, deconsecrated church… while Francis Bacon casually holds Remedios Varos' hand, with Clarice Jensen playing her cello in the background.

Dark Cabinets is a collection of painting, sculptures, textile collages, art dolls, mixed media art and illustrations by international and local artists, including: Alison Dougherty, Aris Moore, Dan Barry, Daniel Álvarez, Daniel Martin Diaz, Demian Anderson, Ellie Davis, Fran De Anda, Jana Seven (Rag and Bone), Jeannie Pappas, Jennifer G. Cutshall, Johanna Mark (Medulla Textiles), Jon MacNair, Marco Calvi, Natasha Dalard (Domaine du Bizarre), Renata Santamarina, Richard Cushall, Scarlette Baccini, and Wynter Jones.

The show opens on Thursday March 5 and runs through March 28, 2026.

The opening reception is on Thursday March 5, 5-8pm. On the same day the gallery will debut its "room within a room."
