Toronto publisher Analog Game Studios opens North American campaign as early backer support builds from day one
TORONTO - s4story -- Analog Game Studios today announced that the Kickstarter campaign for Fruit Island, a new board game designed by Dr. Reiner Knizia, launched yesterday to a strong opening day.
Fruit Island is the first North American edition of the Knizia design, players to harvest fruit across the island and race to the trading post, while deciding, whether to bank what they've collected or push their luck for more, with the gorilla always hungry.
The campaign already earned two significant industry endorsements. Kickstarter designated Fruit Island a "Projects We Love" campaign, an editorial distinction hand-picked by Kickstarter's own team and awarded to select standout campaigns. Separately, Fruit Island is trending at number one on the Kicktraq Hot List, a widely followed tracker that monitors real-time Kickstarter campaign momentum.

Advance reviewer copies generated strong responses ahead of launch. "The good Doctor does not do you wrong in this. It's freaking fun. I can't recommend this one enough," said Chris of Liege of Games. Brent of Cloudy with a Chance of Meeples called it "a really enjoyable game with that classic Reiner Knizia feel," while Daniel of Board Game Addict UK noted, "We had a blast. I still haven't played a Reiner Knizia game I haven't liked."
"The early response has been exactly what we hoped for," said Richard MacRae, Publisher at Analog Game Studios. "Fruit Island is an elegantly designed game that works for families and experienced players alike and we're proud to be bringing the first North American edition to backers through Kickstarter."
The Kickstarter campaign features eight pledge tiers, including a limited Early Bird tier, a Kickstarter-exclusive Deluxe Edition with premium components and bundle tiers with other Analog Game Studios titles. Fruit Island is available to back now at kickstarter.com/projects/analoggamestudios/fruit-island.
