Empowering Speech Announces New Public Speaking Services for Homeschooling Families, Co-ops, and Academically Minded Youth
S For Story/10689303
College-level communication training now available through online coursework, parent support, youth instruction, and live seminars
LOS ANGELES - s4story -- Empowering Speech is expanding its offerings with a new set of public speaking services designed specifically for homeschool families, co-ops, learning pods, and academically motivated students seeking serious communication training.
Built on structure, accountability, and real-world practice, Empowering Speech helps students develop not only as speakers, but also as organized thinkers and more confident leaders. The program is designed to meet growing demand for educational services that combine flexibility with academic rigor.
The new offerings include a college-level asynchronous public speaking course delivered through Canvas LMS, structured support for homeschool parents and co-op leaders, instruction for academically minded youth, and The Empowering Speech Seminar, a three-hour instructor-led experience introducing the core principles of credible and confident public speaking.

Unlike casual enrichment programs, Empowering Speech emphasizes preparation, clarity, and ownership. Students learn to manage anxiety, organize ideas, balance logic and emotion, and deliver speeches to real audiences. The program is grounded in the belief that strong communication is not a personality trait or performance trick, but a teachable skill built through discipline and practice.
For homeschooling parents and guardians, the program also provides a practical framework for guiding communication development at home or in small-group learning settings. Rather than leaving families to improvise, Empowering Speech offers clear principles and usable tools that support long-term growth.
The program is led by Professor Duane Smith, an educator and coach with more than three decades of experience teaching public speaking and communication across community college classrooms, graduate instruction, executive coaching, and online learning. The founder serves as a full-time professor of Communication Studies and speech coach at Los Angeles Valley College and has extensive experience teaching both traditional and fully online public speaking courses.

Empowering Speech is also guided by the founder's experience as a homeschool father. That perspective has helped shape a program grounded in structure, accountability, and disciplined thinking, while reinforcing a central belief: students grow when expectations are clear, effort is required, and responsibility is embraced.
With online and live options available, Empowering Speech is now welcoming inquiries from homeschooling families, co-ops, learning communities, and local groups interested in bringing rigorous communication training to their children.
