New book offers a raw, honest account of heart transplant recovery and the realities patients are rarely told to expect
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - s4story -- Frederick M. Hueston Releases My Heart Journey: The First 90 Days
New book offers a raw, honest account of heart transplant recovery and the realities patients are rarely told to expect
Cookeville, TN. Frederick M. Hueston, accomplished author and heart transplant recipient, announces the release of his latest book, My Heart Journey: The First 90 Days: What They Don't Tell You About Recovery (But I Will).
The book provides an unfiltered look at the physical, mental, and emotional realities of the first 90 days following a heart transplant.
Hueston shares the personal challenges, emotional highs and lows, and unexpected moments he experienced during his early recovery. Writing from the perspective of someone who has lived through the process, he offers insights that only another transplant patient can fully understand.

"Recovery isn't just about physical healing," Hueston said. "It's a mental and emotional journey that no one can truly prepare you for. Doctors and nurses can explain the medications and procedures, but no one can explain what it feels like to face your own mortality or how that experience changes the way you see the world."
In My Heart Journey: The First 90 Days, Hueston explores the realities transplant patients often encounter but may not hear much about before surgery. From the constant beeping of hospital equipment to the emotional roller coaster that continues long after leaving the hospital, he provides a candid account intended to help others better understand what recovery can really be like.
More than a medical memoir, the book serves as a practical and personal companion for transplant recipients, patients facing other major medical recoveries, and the family members and caregivers supporting them. Hueston's down-to-earth writing style and sense of humor make difficult subjects easier to approach while offering helpful insight and reassurance.
