Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania's "Summer of Sisterhood" Returns to Camp Valley Forge
S For Story/10689048
Camp Valley Forge is open to all girls, offering activities like swimming, archery, crafts, and hiking.
VALLEY FORGE, Pa. - s4story -- Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania is offering STEM programming, swimming, archery and other hands-on learning opportunities at Camp Valley Forge this summer. Running from June 22 through August 14, the camp offers eight one-week day camp programs for youth in 1st through 8th grade, as well as leadership programs for youth in 9th through 12th grade. Involvement in Girl Scouts is not required to participate in GSEP camps, and all girls are encouraged to register.
"Summer camp is where girls build confidence, discover new interests and form lasting friendships in a supportive, empowering environment," said Kim E. Fraites-Dow, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania. "At Camp Valley Forge, every activity is designed to encourage curiosity, independence and a sense of belonging."
Founded in 2007, Camp Valley Forge prides itself on being a tech-free environment where campers enjoy experiential learning, participate in girl-led opportunities and build community while earning scout badges.

Located adjacent to historic Valley Forge National Park, Camp Valley Forge's programming promotes problem-solving, encourages new challenges and fosters friendship through activities ranging from archery to cooking.
"Camp Valley Forge is a place where girls can try things they might not have the chance to experience anywhere else, whether that's learning a new skill, stepping into leadership or simply gaining confidence in who they are," said Alison "Fog" Rodgers, camp director at Camp Valley Forge. "Having spent so many years in Girl Scout camps myself, I've seen how those small moments of growth add up and stay with you long after the summer ends."
Camp Valley Forge runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended care hours available before and after camp. In July, select overnight sessions offer campers additional opportunities for swimming, dinner and evening activities.
Accredited by the American Camp Association, Camp Valley Forge and all other Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania summer camps have met extensive safety and programming requirements.
