Delivering Holiday Cheer to U.S. Service Members Away From Home
FORT MYERS, Fla. - s4story -- Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida (SWFL) is honored to participate in the 11th annual "10,000 for the Troops" campaign, a heartfelt tradition that unites schools, veterans, local businesses, and families across Southwest Florida. This initiative delivers thousands of handwritten holiday cards to U.S. service members deployed worldwide, reminding them of home and gratitude during the holiday season.
Starting on Black Friday, November 28, 2025, shoppers at Goodwill stores across Southwest Florida can take part in a special holiday initiative. During the Goodwill Black Friday sale, special holiday cards will be available at all Goodwill retail locations for customers to write heartfelt messages to U.S. service members. After completing a card, simply drop it in the designated baskets, and the Goodwill SWFL team will ensure it reaches its next destination on the way to our troops.

The campaign, launched 11 years ago by Sun Broadcasting's 92.5 FOX News, continues in partnership with Mel's Diner and the Military Support Program at Lee Health. The goal is simple yet powerful: collect 10,000 handwritten Christmas cards filled with gratitude and encouragement for America's men and women serving overseas.
"With Goodwill joining our mission, Southwest Florida shows once again how proudly it supports our brave men and women serving overseas," said Jim Schwartzel, owner of 92.5 FOX News.
