Greenlight Networks to Acquire Loop Internet
S For Story/10664783
Accelerates Fiber ~ Greenlight Networks, a prominent fiber-to-the-home internet provider, has recently announced its plans to acquire the assets of Loop Internet, a locally-owned and operated fiber internet provider based in Scranton, PA. This definitive agreement marks a significant step for Greenlight as it expands its presence in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area and accelerates the deployment of its advanced fiber network.
The decision to acquire Loop Internet comes after Greenlight's announcement in April of its expansion into Pennsylvania, with plans to build fiber internet networks in both the Northeast and South-Central regions of the state. With this acquisition, Greenlight will be able to leverage Loop's existing network footprint and resources to further enhance its services and reach more consumers.
"We are excited to welcome Loop Internet, their associates, and customers to Greenlight Networks," stated Mark Murphy, CEO of Greenlight Networks. "Loop's established network coverage complements our current and planned service areas, providing us with a strong base of operations in the Scranton area. By joining forces, we can accelerate our growth into new markets, operate more efficiently, and deliver an exceptional customer experience to even more individuals."

Founded in 2015 by a local resident who was dissatisfied with the lack of reliable internet access in the community, Loop Internet has grown significantly over the past decade. The company currently offers fiber internet services in parts of Wilkes-Barre, Mountain Top, Scranton, and Kingston; with plans for expansion into neighboring communities underway.
"We are proud of what we have achieved at Loop Internet and are excited for this next chapter with Greenlight Networks," said Chris Hacken, Founder of Loop Internet. "This partnership will allow us to accelerate our plans and bring fast and reliable internet to even more communities."
Known for their transparent pricing structure, responsive customer service, and commitment to local investment, Loop Internet has earned a strong reputation among its customers. This reputation will only be strengthened by joining forces with Greenlight Networks, a company that shares their passion for exceptional service and commitment to building stronger neighborhoods through reliable, high-speed connectivity.

According to Jason Wasmanski, General Manager of Loop Internet, the partnership with Greenlight will not only benefit customers but also the local community. "Greenlight's capital investments in the region will lead to more local hiring initiatives, partnerships with businesses and contractors, and enhanced community engagement efforts," he stated.
The transaction is expected to be finalized later this year, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. With this acquisition, Greenlight Networks is poised to become a major player in the fiber internet market in Pennsylvania and continue its mission of providing fast and reliable internet services to communities across the country.
