Gulf Coast Village to host Jan. 14 'Brush Hour' art exhibit
S For Story/10680777
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - s4story -- Gulf Coast Gallery, a series of rotating art exhibits created by Gulf Coast Village – Cape Coral's only life plan community – and the North Fort Myers Arts Association (NFMAA), will launch its newest art exhibit, "Brush Hour," on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026.
"Brush Hour" will showcase a diverse collection of artwork from Gulf Coast Village's own resident artists, as well as artists from the NFMAA. The exhibit's featured artist is Al Trusko, an independent living resident at Gulf Coast Village with a lifelong passion for art.
Encouraged in high school to pursue his passion through a career in art, he earned a degree in fine arts from Ohio University. He went on to teach art to junior high and high school students for 28 years. He previously had an art business and would sell his work to gift shops. Trusko's primary mediums include drawing or painting with watercolors and acrylics.
"Art was my whole livelihood," said Trusko. "I grew up with it [art]. I made a little painting that they hung in the elementary school office."
In a vibrant display of color in Gulf Coast Village's elevator lobby, the exhibit will feature watercolor, acrylics and oils. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the local art, meet the artists, shop pieces from local artists and indulge in wine and light refreshments at the gallery's opening.
