Habitat for Humanity celebrates continued partnership with Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation
S For Story/10700703
FORT MYERS, Fla. - s4story -- Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties has strengthened its longstanding partnership with Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation through a $390,000 grant to help local families achieve affordable homeownership.
Funds from the grant supported the construction of two new homes in Habitat's McNeill Village community, a 36-home HOA-managed community in North Fort Myers. With help from Shadow Wood residents volunteering at the build sites, both homes were completed and dedicated to local partnering families earlier this year.
"We are deeply grateful for Shadow Wood's generosity and for a partnership that stretches back more than two decades," said Rachel West, Habitat's director of donor development. "That kind of consistent, hands-on support has helped many of our local Habitat families to achieve their dreams of affordable homeownership and financial stability."
What began in 2004 as a dedicated group of Shadow Wood residents volunteering and supporting Habitat's mission grew into a dedicated charitable foundation in 2012 to expand their impact even further. In the years since, the Foundation has supported Habitat in acquiring land for future development, developing infrastructure in new neighborhoods and funding the construction of affordable homes throughout Lee County.
