The author, K. Van Kramer, is a skilled storyteller who was born in Wisconsin but moved to Florida as a teenager. She graduated in Graphic Design from the University of Florida and became an award-winning designer before pursuing her passion for writing. After moving to the Netherlands for three years, she traveled widely, including Egypt which helped inspire her story and her vivid descriptions of the country's landmarks and culture. Kim currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her family, where she continues to write and explore the Appalachian countryside.
