Icons of Valor Commemorate Cuban Independence Day in Miami

MIAMI - s4story -- The historic Cuban exile community will gather for the first time in Miami to commemorate Cuban Independence Day on May 20, 2026. Six prominent Cuban civic and patriotic organizations will unite for the special event at the Museo de la Brigada de Asalto 2506 in Hialeah Gardens.

Presidents and representatives from each organization will address attendees, including Fernando Caula of the Cuban Orthodox Party, Alberto Mulet of the Cuban Patriotic Junta, Luis Gonzalez Vega of the Municipalities of Cuba in Exile, Antonio Calatayud of the Cuban National Congress, Ivan Sanchez of the Cuban Authentic Party, and Dr. Manuel Alzugaray of the Miami Medical Team Foundation.

The commemoration honors these Icons of Valor, distinguished leaders, patriots, and members of the historic Cuban exile movement whose courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to freedom have helped preserve the fight for democracy across generations. It also celebrates the enduring spirit of the Cuban exile community, while reaffirming a shared hope for a free and democratic Cuba.
