ADELAIDE, Australia - s4story -- Many aspiring as well as established authors are gearing up for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November. They're facing one of the biggest challenges for authors: plotting fiction.

This year, authors have Angela Booth's new writing program "Commercial Fiction Secrets: Plot Your Novel In 60 Minutes Or Less" to help them to create better plots.

Angela says she developed the program because of her own struggles with plotting. "By nature I'm a pantser. That worked well when I was writing for myself. But when I took on fiction ghostwriting gigs I had to develop a plotting strategy that works."

She maintains that the 60-Minute strategy is simple. It produces character-driven plots, via a creative, organic method.

Angela reports that "this way of creating plots works for both kinds of authors: the plotters, as well as the pantsers."

Authors who "pants" are those authors who write by the seat of their pants, without a plot or an outline. Although pantsing is enjoyable, it's also dangerous, because books tend to run into dead ends; their authors eventually abandon them.

One of Angela's students said: "The big benefit of the 60-Minute strategy is that I know that I will finish my novels. Before I learned this plotting method, I couldn't finish writing a book."
