The Academy's name carries a documented linguistic foundation. Gruhlke named his original program "JAG" in 2018 using his personal initials. On December 14, 2025, he discovered that JAG (जग) is an ancient Sanskrit word from the Rig Veda — humanity's oldest extant religious text, dated to approximately 1500 BCE — meaning "The Universe." The Academy's curriculum integrates 13 Domains of Education spanning foundational sciences, ancient wisdom traditions, Eastern medicine, and quantum studies.

JAG Academy has set a public goal of certifying 144,000 transformation professionals worldwide, each projected to directly serve approximately 1,000 individuals — a combined reach of roughly 144 million people. The Academy is designed to operate in 42+ languages through a four-level credential: Practitioner, Facilitator, Teacher, and Master.

Gruhlke served in the United States Air Force as a C-5 Galaxy Crew Chief — four years and seven months active duty plus one year in the Reserves. He is a two-time Winter X Games competitor, multi-discipline motorsports champion, and was ordained through the Universal Life Church in 2019. He has spent thirteen years researching consciousness, health, and ancient wisdom traditions worldwide.
