A concert of songs inspired by Haiku Milieu haiku celebrates the release of "Sundays with Jenny" by Jenny Bienemann
CHICAGO - s4story -- Award winning Illinois-based singer/songwriter, poet, and photographer Jenny Bienemann celebrates the release of her new coffee table book Sundays with Jenny at the Haiku Milieu After Dark concert at FitzGerald's on Friday, August 30 at 8:30 pm.
By popular demand, Haiku Milieu grew from Jenny Bienemann's daily social media posts into a movement that fosters creativity and collaboration with books, a popular newsletter and blog, and the Haiku Milieu concert series featuring songs inspired by one of Bienemann's haiku and images. Haiku Milieu (https://haikumilieu.com/) celebrates its seventh anniversary on September 10, 2024.

Over the course of seventeen concerts since 2019, more than 350 songs have been inspired by Haiku Milieu. These songs and performances are gathered on the Haiku Milieu YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@haikumilieu), and are featured in the Sunday Haiku Milieu newsletter. The Haiku Milieu After Dark Concert on August 30 at 8:30 pm at FitzGerald's features sexy songs, heartbreaking songs, songs of desire, love, loss and grief – the things we discuss only after the kids go to bed. Spotlighting the act of creation as a primal force that ignites our passion, restores our humanity and deepens our connections to one another, these concerts feature master songwriters, all of whom will be familiar to Chicago audiences.
"Finding the extraordinary in the everyday is my mission," says Bienemann. "I've found that collaborating with other artists results in startling new work, restores our sense of wonder, and fosters a diverse creative community." At the concert, she serves as emcee, reading the haiku that inspired the song aloud before each performer.
