Kansas City Music Executive La'Nardo Myrick Sr. Announces Planned Disclosure of Alleged Misconduct in Music Licensing and Digital Distribution
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - s4story -- La'Nardo Myrick Sr., also known as Producer 9-0, founder and owner of BGE Digital Distribution, announced today that he is preparing to publicly present what he describes as extensive documentation concerning alleged misconduct within the music licensing, royalty accounting, and digital distribution industries.
According to Myrick, the materials he has assembled raise serious questions about whether certain companies operating in or around the modern music-distribution ecosystem may have used unfair, deceptive, or unlawful business practices over a period spanning decades, including the digital-distribution era. He contends that independent artists, record labels, producers, songwriters, and rights holders across multiple genres — from hip-hop to mainstream to classical music — may have been financially harmed by opaque reporting systems, disputed deductions, conflicting contract structures, and royalty-payment irregularities.

"This is not just about one company or one catalog," said Myrick. "This is about whether a larger system has operated in a way that deprived artists and labels of money, transparency, and fair dealing. If the evidence supports civil claims or regulatory action, those avenues should be pursued fully and lawfully."
BGE Digital Distribution asserts that the documentation at issue includes records and materials that, in Myrick's view, warrant close examination for possible contract-based misconduct, deceptive trade practices, royalty underpayment, and other actionable wrongdoing. Myrick is calling for attorneys, forensic accountants, investigators, journalists, and public authorities to review the evidence and determine whether civil claims, administrative enforcement, or criminal referrals are appropriate under applicable law.
Myrick emphasized that any determination of liability must come through proper legal process and evidentiary review. He stated that his objective is to help expose any systemic abuse that may have harmed creators and rights holders and to encourage lawful accountability where the evidence supports it. He also noted that an indictment, if ever sought by prosecutors, is an allegation rather than a conviction, and that guilt must be proved in court.
