NEW YORK - s4story -- Loretta Ana Kaufman's acrylic painting Animated Forms (Variation VII): The Blues will be featured in NAWA's exhibition The Signature Touch at Lenonovich Gallery, 520 W 24th St., New York, NY, running June 5–27, 2026, and online at www.thenawa.org. The exhibition is open to Signature Members and presents over 200 works across a wide range of disciplines — painting, works on paper, sculpture, photography, mixed media, collage, fiber art, and digital — with an additional 96 artworks displayed via flat-screen rotation.

More than a showcase, the Annual Members Exhibition is a tribute to NAWA's enduring legacy: a gathering that honors the organization's founders, unites members from across the country, and fosters a spirit of creative empowerment. Founded in 1889, NAWA holds the distinction of being the first established professional women's art organization in the United States, with a mission to champion dynamic and relevant women artists nationwide. The organization's documented exhibitions are archived at some of the country's most prestigious institutions, including the Smithsonian Institution Archives, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Library of Congress.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Over the course of more than five decades, Nashville, Tennessee-based multidisciplinary artist Loretta Ana Kaufman has created both two- and three-dimensional work in an expansive range of materials — clay, fiber, paint, paper, metal, and wood.

In 2018, her oil painting Gate Posts With No Gate – The Leg Paint Project was published in poet Peter Waldor's book, which received an endorsement from Sean Hemingway, Curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City.

A curated survey spanning thirty years of her practice — encompassing sculpture, works on paper, painting, and mixed media completed between 1988 and 2018 — was exhibited at the Gallery of the Tennessee Arts Commission in Nashville from February through April 2020.
