Low-Cost E&O Coverage Available for New Medicare Agents

S For Story/10705113
Eligible newly licensed agents can access competitive Errors & Omissions insurance rates, with installment payment options to help manage business expenses.

LOS ANGELES - s4story -- Newly licensed insurance agents entering the Medicare market have many expenses to consider as they build their businesses. Errors and Omissions (E&O) liability insurance is an important consideration, and the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI) provides information and a referral option for agents seeking competitively priced coverage.

Through its established referral relationship with CalSurance Associates, AALTCI connects eligible Medicare agents with an E&O insurance program that includes coverage options for agents selling Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement insurance.

For eligible new Medicare agents, the confirmed 2026 premium rate starts at $388, subject to program eligibility, coverage selections and policy terms. Rates and program details may change, so agents should confirm current pricing before applying.

"New agents are working to establish their businesses, develop client relationships and manage expenses at the same time," said Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. "Price matters, but so does understanding what the policy covers, the insurer behind it and the terms that apply."

The program offers 10-pay and quarterly payment options, subject to program terms. Installment plans may cost more than paying the annual premium in full, but they can provide eligible agents with additional flexibility in managing cash flow during the early years of their businesses.

The program is administered by CalSurance Associates, a division of Brown & Brown Program Insurance Services, and underwritten by Allianz Global Risks US Insurance Company, rated A+ (Superior) by AM Best.

Agents should carefully review the coverage levels when applying. Level II includes individual health and group accident and health coverage, including Medicare Advantage and managed health care. Medicare Supplement insurance is listed under Level I. Agents should verify that the selected coverage addresses all products and activities involved in their businesses, including any applicable Part D activities.

The online application generally takes approximately five to ten minutes. Following successful completion of the application and payment, the program offers immediate access to a certificate of insurance, subject to the insurer's procedures.
