LUBBOCK, Texas - s4story -- LUBBOCK, TEXAS – June 18 - 21 2026 – The Lubbock Juneteenth Committee is excited to
announce the full schedule of events for the 2026 Juneteenth Celebration, taking place June 18 - 21st. This year's theme, Rise Up Weekend, brings the community together through a vibrant series of events that honor Black history, culture, and freedom.

June 18
Official Celebration Kickoff & Media Day
2:00–3:30 p.m.
Patterson Branch Library, 1836 Parkway Dr.
Free
Celebrate the launch of the Rise Up Juneteenth celebration with a press conference, children's activities, and refreshments.
Glow in the Dark Party
5:00–8:00 p.m.
Patterson Branch Library, 1836 Parkway Dr.
Free | Ages 10–17
An evening for youth featuring a silent disco, silent reading lounge, glow-in-the-dark games, and a dance-off, hosted by the Patterson Library.
Friday, June 19
6:30 The Cookout
Mackenzie Main City Park
A family-friendly evening in the park featuring great food, live music, and vibrant entertainment with special guests DJ Arie Spins and Don Diego Band. Attendees should bring blankets and/ or lawn chairs.

Free for seniors ages 62 and older
Hosted by My Brothers and Sisters Keepers, this breakfast honors the elders of the community and starts the day with community connection.
Juneteenth Parade
10:00–11:15 a.m.
Begins on Avenue A, travels east on Broadway, turns right on Canyon Lake Dr., and ends at the R.O.C.C. Fitness parking lot
Free to attend | $30 entry fee for participants
Enjoy a vibrant display of floats, music, dancing with local groups and organizations in
celebration of progress. The parade grand marshall will be actress Rolonda Rochelle of Atlanta, Georgia.
Freedom Fest
11:30 a.m. –4:00 p.m.

This family-friendly event includes:
- Leprino Foods Kids' Zone and teen activities
- StarCare Health Fair
- Ice Cream Eating Contest
- United Supermarkets Cooling Station
