OKLAHOMA CITY - s4story -- Mustang Elite Track Club athletes continued their strong start to the 2026 outdoor track and field season during week two of competition, producing multiple personal records and maintaining top statewide rankings across several events.

McCorvey Holds #1 Ranking in Class 6A Hurdles

Mustang High School hurdler Jonathan McCorvey continues to solidify his position as one of Oklahoma's top hurdlers. Competing at the Ken Hogan Invitational in Moore, Oklahoma on March 12, McCorvey ran 14.47 in the 110-meter hurdles, maintaining his #1 ranking in Oklahoma Class 6A.

In the process, McCorvey defeated Hudson Lott, who currently holds the #2 ranking in Class 6A, further reinforcing McCorvey's position as a leading contender in the event early in the outdoor season.

Benson Breaks Through with Major Personal Records

Another standout performance came from Christopher Benson (Class of 2027, Moore High School), who delivered one of the largest improvements of the week.

At the same Ken Hogan Invitational, Benson dropped a two-second personal record in the 300-meter hurdles, improving from 42.64 to 40.45. The performance now ranks him #10 in the state of Oklahoma.

Benson also posted a major improvement in the 110-meter hurdles, lowering his time from 17.48 to 16.45 over the past year, marking significant progress in both speed and hurdle technique.

Wilcox Opens Season with Top-10 Sprint Performance

Meanwhile, Reef Wilcox (Class of 2027, Community Christian) opened his 2026 outdoor campaign at the Velma-Alma Invitational on March 12, delivering an impressive sprint double.

Wilcox ran 10.84 in the 100-meter dash, which currently ranks #6 in Oklahoma, establishing him as one of the state's fastest emerging sprinters.

He also recorded a personal record in the 200 meters, improving from 22.96 to 22.93, continuing his steady development in the short sprint events.

With multiple athletes producing personal bests and several top-10 statewide rankings, Mustang Elite Track Club continues to build momentum early in the outdoor track and field season.
