When asked about her inspiration to write a book, Eliette explained, "After meeting families in the limb difference community through the Helping Hand Project, I became acutely aware of the importance of disability representation. I wrote Estey Grey Plays Her Own Way to empower children to embrace what makes them different and view it as their greatest strength."
