Ocean Partnership for Children Celebrates Mental Health Awareness Month and Honors Maureen DeSantis

Community partners across Ocean County gather to promote awareness, reduce stigma, and celebrate individuals dedicated to supporting mental wellness for children, youth, and families.

TOMS RIVER, N.J. - s4story -- In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Ocean Partnership for Children proudly joined community partners across Ocean County in promoting awareness, reducing stigma, and celebrating individuals dedicated to supporting mental wellness for children, youth, and families.

During the annual "Celebrating Wellness" event hosted on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, by the Ocean County Mental Health Awareness Committee, several outstanding advocates and professionals were recognized with Community Advocate Awards for their commitment to advancing mental health awareness and compassionate care throughout the community.

Among the honorees was Maureen DeSantis, LCSW, Director of Care Management at Ocean Partnership for Children, who received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. This recognition honors her years of unwavering dedication to supporting youth and families, strengthening access to behavioral health services, and championing a system of care rooted in compassion, collaboration, and hope.

Mental Health Awareness Month serves as an opportunity to encourage open conversations about mental health, foster understanding, and remind individuals and families that support and resources are available.
