Opticom Tech Introduces Portable Camera Kit for Heavy Machinery Visibility
S For Story/10691125
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - s4story -- Opticom Tech, a leader in industrial video monitoring solutions, announced the release of its new Portable Heavy Machinery Camera Kit. The system is designed to improve situational awareness and safety around human-operated heavy machinery in industrial environments like construction sites, ports, mines, forestry and oil and gas.
Heavy equipment operators often work with limited visibility around large machines, especially in congested yards or active work zones. Blind spots surrounding the equipment can create safety risks for nearby personnel, vehicles and materials. This ready-to-install kit provides operators with a clear, real-time view of critical areas, helping them work more safely and confidently.
"This system was designed to give operators better visibility in situations where awareness is critical," said Heidi Schmidt, global sales manager at Opticom Tech. "When you're operating large machinery, being able to clearly see what's happening on all sides of the equipment can make the difference between a smooth operation and a potential incident. This kit gives operators that additional layer of visibility without complicated installation."

Martori Farms has installed these camera kits on top loaders—heavy-duty vehicles designed to lift, stack and move shipping containers from the top—in its yard to improve visibility around the large machines. With the additional camera view, operators can verify the equipment's surroundings and quickly identify potential obstacles and safety hazards before moving the machine.
"Our operators report that the camera is useful and helps provide real-time visibility at the back of the machine," said Daniel Pinargote, Safety & Health Supervisor at Martori Farms. "If I were naming the system, I would call it 'Ojo de Águila,' which translates to 'Eagle Eye' to reflect its ability to give the operator clear vision of the area behind the machine."
The kit includes either two or four cameras plus one monitor, creating a self-contained viewing system that can be deployed quickly on nearly any heavy machinery. The system integrates right into the machine's power so no external power source or battery recharging is required.
Key benefits of the Portable Heavy Machinery Camera Kit include:
"We design our systems to solve real operational challenges in demanding industrial environments," Schmidt added. "This kit gives teams a way to improve visibility around heavy equipment for daily operations, temporary projects or changing job site conditions."
