St. Tammany Parish 14th Annual President's Arts Awards Banquet to be held this week
MANDEVILLE, La. - s4story -- Painting with a Twist, founded by Cathy Deano and Renee Maloney in 2009, has been named 2019 Patron of the Year by the St. Tammany Parish 14th Annual President's Arts Awards organization.
Each year, the President's Arts Awards recognize local artists and arts patrons who have made significant contributions and commitments to the development of the arts in St. Tammany Parish through their work.
Painting with a Twist is humbled by the award.
Renee Maloney says, "For me, to do great work is to love what you do. Though I am not an artist I know that Art has a positive impact on our sense of hope, and it improves our sense of connectedness. Because of this I feel blessed to be part of this art community and I am committed to help in any way that I can."
"We are thrilled to be chosen as Patron of the Year. As a native of St. Tammany, to be recognized by my community is a very special honor and means so much to me," says Cathy Deano.
Painting with a Twist, founded in Mandeville, is the largest and original paint and sip franchise where guests come together to paint, sip on wine and enjoy a fun-filled night. Born out of the disaster of Hurricane Katrina, the brand's mission remains: to provide a carefree escape that makes a difference in people's lives.

Capitalizing on the growing "Arts and Crafts as Entertainment" category, last week, Painting with a Twist acquired Color Me Mine, the industry leader in paint-your-own pottery and Chesapeake Ceramics, a leading ceramics supplier. All three companies are now under the umbrella brand, Twist Brands.
Painting with a Twist is emerging stronger as a brand as the recent challenges incurred during the COVID-19 crisis has accelerated innovation on a number of fronts. Twist at Home was introduced as a new product line, offering at-home paint kits to guests with video instructions included. Painting with a Twist was also able to quickly pivot to offering virtual experiences which has attracted a number of team building opportunities as businesses search for ways to keep their teams connected as remote working becomes more prevalent and long-lasting.
Cathy & Renee have led the charge in the paint and sip industry and look forward to accepting the 2019 Patron of the Year Award at the awards banquet being held on November 19th.
