Pita Chip Celebrates One Year at The Concourse at Comcast Center with Free Entrees for the Community
S For Story/10685343
PHILADELPHIA - s4story -- Pita Chip, a locally-owned Modern Middle Eastern fast-casual restaurant, is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its Comcast Concourse location by giving away free chicken shawarma and falafel entrees on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 11am to 2pm. The giveaway is open to everyone — no purchase required, limit one per person.
"This is a thank you to the people who've supported us over this first year," said Howard Klayman, co-owner of Pita Chip. "And for anyone who hasn't tried us yet, there's no better way to see what Pita Chip is all about than a free lunch."
Pita Chip opened at The Concourse at Comcast Center in February 2025, joining the upscale food hall at one of Philadelphia's most prominent addresses. The location is the fourth for the growing restaurant brand, which also operates in Temple (North Broad Street), University City (Market Street), and Yardley (Bucks County).

What sets Pita Chip apart:
All food is made fresh from scratch every morning at a single central kitchen and distributed daily to each location. Customers build their own bowls and pitas from a selection of proteins, toppings, and house-made sauces with proprietary spice blends. The menu blends authentic Middle Eastern street food traditions with flavors shaped by Philadelphia's multicultural food scene.
Co-founder and head chef Omar Alsaadi, who was raised in Damascus, Syria, draws on the cooking traditions of his childhood while incorporating techniques and influences from his life in Philadelphia. "One bite of our falafel and I am transported back to Damascus, smelling all the wonderful street vendor foods," Alsaadi says. "At Pita Chip, our food reflects that diversity, while fundamentally remaining Middle Eastern street food. I call it Modern Middle Eastern."
