Poltergeist Star Oliver Robins Makes Debut as Children's Author with "Sunset Scares"

LOS ANGELES - s4story -- Former Child Actor Teams with Award-Winning Writer Dustin Warburton for Halloween Tale
New York – September 2025 – Oliver Robins, beloved for his role as Robbie Freeling in Steven Spielberg's "Poltergeist" (1982) and "Poltergeist II" (1986), debuts as a children's author with "Sunset Scares," publishing October 1, 2025. The USC film graduate teams with co-author Dustin Warburton, an award-winning writer featured on The Tonight Show, Oprah, and in Time and People magazines.
The inspiration came from young fans at a horror convention. "Kids told me they weren't afraid of 'Poltergeist' at all," recalls Robins. "That got me thinking – what if old monsters felt like they didn't matter anymore? I realized there was greater meaning here about finding new purpose as we age."
Warburton, known for horror films like "Spiders 3D" and children's literature, proved the perfect collaborator. "Oliver's insight about finding new purpose resonated deeply," says Warburton, who has earned praise from celebrities including Barbara Eden and Paul Reubens.
