Readers' Favorite Dubs Debut Novel by Ohio Native a "Thrilling Murder Mystery"
COLUMBUS, Ohio - s4story -- An End to Etcetera by B. Robert Conklin received a warm literary welcome from Readers' Favorite, one of the largest book review and award contest sites on the Internet.
The author-owned and -operated site has been asked to review books for literary luminaries such as James Patterson, David Baldacci and Stephanie Meyer, and is trusted by prominent publishers such as Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, and Simon & Schuster.
Receiving a free review on the site is not guaranteed. In fact, only half of the books submitted under this option end up with a posted review, and only a portion of these receive 4 or 5 stars, making Anne-Marie Reynolds's review of Conklin's novel all the more noteworthy.
An End to Etcetera "is a fascinating slow-burner story," Reynolds writes, "with tension building throughout … Along the way, there are plenty of twists and turns, and the writing style will draw you in and get its hooks into you."

In an era where school violence is horrifically common, the book begins with a young teen being referred to 30-something therapist Selena Harris for counseling after claiming in a text, inadvertently broadcast to his entire school, that he drowned an autistic boy left in his care.
An End to Etcetera invites the reader to play amateur sleuth alongside Selena in a nerve-racking search for clues that could explain why her young patient would make such an unfounded claim lacking even a morsel of evidence.
In her review, Reynolds elaborates, "As the story evolves, the relationship between therapist and patient grows as the search for the truth reaches its conclusion … You will, in equal measure, tear your hair out over things they've done and continue to do."
"I enjoyed this story;" Reynolds concludes. "If you're looking for something that will keep you reading all the way through, this is it."
The psychology of the novel is loosely informed by the author's own experiences with counseling for OCD and depression using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). A native Ohioan, Conklin graduated from The Ohio State University with degrees in English Literature and has worked as an educator, editor, and even a door-to-door salesperson in his hometown of Youngstown, much like one of the characters in the novel.
