BIRMINGHAM, U.K. - s4story -- Residents, families and staff at Neville Williams House enjoyed an unforgettable afternoon of music, dancing and celebration as part of BCOP's 80th anniversary year.
The home hosted a special "Step Back in Time" event, transforming its entrance hall, lounge and pub with colourful 80 years themed banners, bunting and decorations to create a vibrant party atmosphere throughout the building.
A live DJ provided music from across the decades, with residents and guests taking to the dancefloor to enjoy everything from the Charleston, jive and swing to line dancing, rock n' roll, reggae and the Twist.
One particularly emotional moment came during a special "Last Waltz" for Libby, who is retiring after many years of dedicated service at the home.
Many staff members embraced the spirit of the day by dressing in costumes inspired by different eras, while residents and relatives joined in the celebrations, creating a joyful atmosphere filled with laughter, dancing and shared memories.

Guests also enjoyed a selection of refreshments including jerk chicken, cakes, snacks, Prosecco, Buck's Fizz and fruit juices throughout the afternoon.
Amy Beasley , general manager at Neville Williams House said: "The event was a wonderful opportunity for residents, families and staff to come together and celebrate BCOP's 80th anniversary. Music has such a powerful way of bringing back memories and encouraging people to connect with one another, and it was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves and joining in."
The celebration forms part of BCOP's wider 80th anniversary programme, which is also helping to raise awareness and support for the charity's fundraising appeal to create additional dementia-friendly sensory streets across its homes.
BCOP has supported older people in Birmingham for 80 years through its nursing homes, supported housing and independent living communities, with a continued focus on dignity, independence and person-centred care.
