Sanibel and Captiva community raises over $18,000 through United Way Golf Tournament

FORT MYERS, Fla. - s4story -- The second annual Sanibel Captiva United Way Golf Tournament raised $18,600 to benefit United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades' mission. The funds go toward the Sanibel and Captiva community's goal to raise $746,426 in the 2025-26 United Way campaign. The group has raised over $650,000 in each of the past four years.
The United Way campaign raises money that stays in the local community to help support the human service network of more than 90 partner agencies and more than 260 programs.
United Way Partner Agencies, such as F.I.S.H. of SanCap, Beacon of Hope, Blessings in a Backpack, Cancer Alliance Network, Family Initiative, Community Cooperative, Abuse Counseling and Treatment, and Children's Advocacy Center, serve a diverse range of needs in the community.
Ninety-six golfers took part in the tournament held Jan. 25 at the Sanibel Island Golf Club. Calli Johnson duPont and John Jensen chaired the event.
