Scholastic Announces Strategic Integration of Trade Publishing, Book Fairs and Book Clubs as New Children's Book Group to Expand Reach and Value of Scholastic Publishing

~ Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education, and media company, has announced a major reorganization that will bring together its Trade Publishing, Book Fairs, and Book Clubs divisions into a new Children's Book Group. This strategic integration, effective June 1st of 2025, will be led by Sasha Quinton as the Executive Vice President and President of Scholastic Children's Book Group.

According to Scholastic President and CEO Peter Warwick, this reorganization will allow the company to reach even more children through a cohesive approach across all its channels. He emphasized the importance of Scholastic's ability to seamlessly work across media, publishing, and distribution in maximizing the value of their intellectual property (IP) and connecting with readers.

Ms. Quinton has been leading the School Reading Events division at Scholastic and has achieved significant gains in profitability for Book Clubs and Book Fairs. In her new role as Executive Vice President and President of Scholastic Children's Book Group, she will expand her portfolio to include Trade Publishing. She will continue to report to Mr. Warwick while working closely with Iole Lucchese, Chief Strategy Officer and President of Scholastic Entertainment.

Ms. Quinton expressed her excitement and honor in leading Scholastic's talented children's book publishing and distribution teams. She highlighted the company's unrivaled insight into what children want to read and how this new collaborative structure will allow them to meet kids where they are – whether through book retailers, school-based fairs and clubs or on screens with their media peers.

As part of this reorganization, Jackie De Leo will join Scholastic Children's Book Group as Publisher and Chief Merchant on June 2nd of 2025. This newly created role brings together editorial and curation in a unique way that is only possible at Scholastic. Ms. De Leo brings over 25 years of experience in the trade publishing and bookselling community, including her most recent position as Chief Merchandising Officer for Barnes & Noble.

Scholastic expects to provide further details on the organization and strategic outlook for its Children's Book Group when it reports its fiscal 2025 results and fiscal 2026 outlook in July. The company has been meeting children where they are for over 100 years, creating quality content and experiences that empower all kids to become lifelong readers and learners. With a global reach into more than 135 countries, Scholastic encourages personal and intellectual growth while nurturing a lifelong relationship with reading, oneself, and the world.
