The Nevada School Foundation Introduces "Pathway to Hope" Initiative to Help Young Adults Build Brighter Futures
S For Story/10696246
LAS VEGAS - s4story -- NEVADA—
Youth homelessness remains one of the most pressing challenges facing communities across Southern Nevada. For many young adults, the absence of stable housing can become a barrier to education, employment, health, and long-term independence.
To help address this need, The Nevada School Foundation has developed Pathway to Hope, an initiative dedicated to providing young adults with the resources, guidance, and support they need to transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
More than a housing initiative, Pathway to Hope is designed to provide a comprehensive support system that includes transitional housing, workforce development, career placement assistance, educational opportunities, life-skills training, financial literacy, case management, and connections to community resources.
The initiative reflects the Foundation's belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to build a future filled with hope, stability, and purpose. We are dedicated to helping young people transition from crisis to independence.
The Nevada School Foundation's work in this area was recognized through its selection for funding under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP)—a competitive federal initiative that supports innovative, locally driven solutions to youth homelessness. While this recognition helped strengthen the Foundation's ability to expand its vision, the organization's commitment to serving vulnerable youth extends beyond any single program or funding source.

During the past several months, the Foundation has been diligently preparing for this initiative by developing safe housing, strengthening community partnerships, creating workforce development opportunities, coordinating referral networks, and building the operational systems necessary to deliver high-quality supportive services.
Founded by entrepreneur, educator, and community leader Maria Novello, The Nevada School Foundation is built on the belief that education creates opportunity and that opportunity changes lives. Novello dedicated nearly 2 decades helping others gain the skills, confidence, and support needed to achieve financial independence and long-term success.
"Pathway to Hope represents more than a program—it represents possibility," said Novello, Executive Director of The Nevada School Foundation. "Every young adult deserves someone who believes in them, a safe place to begin again, and the opportunity to discover their full potential. Our mission is to help young people move beyond survival and toward lasting success."
The Foundation continues to collaborate with educators, employers, nonprofit organizations, housing providers, community leaders, and local businesses to build a network of support that empowers young adults and strengthens Southern Nevada.
"We believe that lasting change happens when communities work together," Novello added. "When we invest in our young people, we invest in stronger families, safer neighborhoods, and a brighter future for everyone."
