Top of Los Angeles Publishes Its 2026 Ranking of the 50 Best Restaurants in Los Angeles
S For Story/10701078
LOS ANGELES - s4story -- Top of Los Angeles, a restaurant guide dedicated to the city of Los Angeles, has published the 2026 edition of The 50 Best Restaurants in Los Angeles, a data-driven ranking built from more than 379,000 diner reviews across 181 Los Angeles restaurants.
Unlike editorial best-of lists, the Top of Los Angeles ranking is computed, not chosen. Each restaurant's score starts with its full public review record, adjusted with a Bayesian method that prevents a handful of five-star ratings from outranking establishments proven over thousands of visits. Scores are then weighted against price level, so a taco stand and a tasting menu compete on value delivered, not on prestige. National chains are excluded.
The 2026 list spans the whole city rather than a few famous districts. Alongside the main ranking, the guide publishes nearly 200 neighborhood and cuisine guides covering the best restaurants in Los Angeles by area, from Koreatown's barbecue rooms to the dumpling houses at the San Gabriel Valley's edge and the seafood counters of the harbor. The full guide index and ranking methodology are at https://topoflosangeles.com/top-rated/

"Los Angeles dining coverage chases openings and celebrity rooms," said Will Smith, chief executive of Top Rated Network LLC, the guide's publisher. "We rank the city on its full review record. The data does the arguing, we just publish what it says."
The ranking is updated as review data changes, and restaurants cannot pay for placement. Top of Los Angeles is part of the Top Rated Network, which operates dining guides in 22 United States metros.
