United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades shares update on effort to close $1.6M annual campaign
S For Story/10695215
FORT MYERS, Fla. - s4story -- United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades continues to see encouraging support from across the community as it works to close a $1.6 million funding gap and ensure continued support for critical programs and services serving thousands of individuals and families.
Through the generosity of donors, businesses, foundations, partner agencies and community supporters, United Way's "One in a Million" has raised $600,000 toward its goal. While the milestone represents meaningful progress, significant need remains as the organization works to raise the remaining $1 million needed to fund its partner agencies and United Way-operated programs.
"We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support we've seen from across our community, but we still need help to close the remaining $1 million gap," said Hannah Pelle, interim president and CEO of United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades. "Every contribution is vital to ensuring life-changing programs are available to those who need them most."
Campaign funding supports both United Way-operated programs and its network of 92 partner agencies that collectively improve the lives of more than 500,000 people in the community through services including food assistance, housing support, youth programs, educational opportunities and other essential resources.
