Spector is a California-licensed CPA and senior executive with more than 25 years of professional experience. Known as Schatzi, he had Parkinson's disease and needed someone to take responsibility for his care. Spector was neither his daughter nor his next of kin, but she became the person he relied on.

"Originally, I wrote this book because the stories about Schatzi were hysterical. He was chaotic, and I thought people would love reading about our adventures. As those adventures unfolded, I realized there was much more to the story that others could benefit from," says Spector.

Spector adds, "I hope readers in the sandwich generation feel understood in their caregiving experiences, and those who have had traumatic childhoods see themselves and find hope. I also wanted to pull back the curtain on Parkinson's disease, particularly psychosis, and its impact on loved ones and caregivers.
