Anaerobic-Digestion.com Updates European Biogas Companies Directory for 2026
S For Story/10704077
Updated directory helps AD developers identify European turnkey biogas plant suppliers, EPC contractors and specialist technology providers.
SHREWSBURY, U.K. - s4story -- Anaerobic-Digestion.com has published an updated directory of European biogas companies that design, construct and commission complete anaerobic digestion plants.
The 2026 edition focuses on businesses offering complete plants, turnkey construction, engineering, procurement and construction services, or another substantial integrated project-delivery role.
The directory profiles 19 principal plant contractors and integrated suppliers, together with specialist technology providers serving the organic-waste, wastewater and biogas sectors. Company names, websites, ownership changes and service descriptions were checked against currently published information.
Clarifying What "Complete" Means
One objective of the revision was to clarify what is meant by a "complete biogas plant manufacturer."
The term does not mean that one company manufactures every pump, tank, mixer and instrument. It generally describes a business willing to accept responsibility for integrating the principal process stages into an operational anaerobic digestion facility.

Depending on the contract, that responsibility may include process design, detailed engineering, equipment procurement, construction management, installation, commissioning, performance testing and operator training.
The directory distinguishes these businesses from companies supplying only individual components. Equipment manufacturers remain essential to AD projects, but they serve a different requirement and are covered separately by Anaerobic-Digestion.com.
"The European biogas industry has changed considerably since the directory was first published," said Steve Last, editor of Anaerobic-Digestion.com and Principal of IPPTS Associates.
"Companies have been acquired, brands have changed and some businesses now offer different services. The revised directory gives project developers a clearer starting point when identifying companies capable of accepting responsibility for a complete plant or major integrated process package."
Companies are invited to review their entries and submit corrections where their ownership, services or website details have changed.
European Biomethane Market Continues to Grow
More on S For Story
The European Biogas Association's 2026 Biomethane Map reported installed European biomethane production capacity of 8.2 billion cubic metres per year by the end of the second quarter of 2026. It identified 1,975 operational plants, compared with 1,678 during the preceding data-collection period.
Selecting a contractor requires more than collecting company names. Developers must establish relevant experience with the proposed feedstock, digestion process, output route, regulatory environment and project scale.
The directory therefore includes guidance on preparing a shortlist, defining contractual battery limits, checking operating references and evaluating performance guarantees.
The updated directory is available at:
