Angels Among Us Pet Rescue & Planned PEThood of Georgia Bring Free Veterinary Care to Local Families

S For Story/10691202
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - s4story -- LAWRENCEVILLE, GAAngels Among Us Pet Rescue and Planned PEThood of Georgia successfully hosted their first free pet vaccine clinic together on Saturday at Jordan Rhodes Park, providing essential veterinary services directly to local families and their pets.

In just a few hours, 205 pets (154 dogs and 51 cats) received free veterinary care, helping ensure they remain healthy, protected, and safe at home with their families. Additionally, 45 vouchers for future free spay or neuter surgeries were distributed, providing critical access to ongoing care.

Residents began arriving early for the first-come, first-served event. Available services included one-year rabies vaccines, distemper/Parvo vaccines for dogs, FVRCP vaccines for cats, microchips, and flea & tick prevention. Pet owners also received resources and support for ongoing veterinary care.

In addition to medical services, families were provided with much-needed pet supplies, including crates, food, collars, and toys, helping to further support pets in the home and reduce barriers to responsible pet ownership.

"Almost 20 years ago, I stood in line with my own pets at a vaccine clinic, so I'm especially proud to have served so many families and their pets," said Kim Kay, Executive Director of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. "By bringing services into the community, we're helping to keep pets in loving homes. This allows us to focus more resources on rescuing homeless and abused pets, while giving a hand up to those who need it."

Special thanks to Petco Love for their generous support, as well as to the many donors from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue and Planned PEThood of Georgia whose contributions made this clinic possible, along with the dedicated volunteers, staff, and community members who helped make the day a success.

When nonprofit organizations come together, more families are reached, more animals are protected, and entire communities benefit. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue and Planned PEThood of Georgia look forward to future collaborations to expand access to veterinary care in areas of Northeast Georgia and Metro Atlanta, where they are needed most. By providing free and low-cost services in underserved communities, these initiatives help prevent illness, reduce pet overpopulation, and keep beloved pets with the families who love them.
