Association of Corporate Counsel – St. Louis Chapter Celebrates National Pro Bono Month
S For Story/10704340
ST. LOUIS - s4story -- The Association of Corporate Counsel – St. Louis Chapter is proud to celebrate National Pro Bono Month this October by recognizing the significant contributions of its members, who volunteer their time and expertise to provide free legal services throughout the year in the St. Louis community.
Serving Veterans and Their Families
On April 23, 2026, Chapter members partnered once again with the Missouri Veterans Commission to host a Veterans' Estate Planning Clinic. Volunteer attorneys worked directly with veterans and their families to prepare essential legal documents, including simple wills, powers of attorney, beneficiary deeds, and health care directives.
"National Pro Bono Month is a time to highlight the extraordinary work of our members, who generously give their time and skills to support individuals and families in need," said Essica Zink, the Chapter's 2026 Pro Bono Chairperson, and Assistant General Counsel, Cencora, Inc.

Since launching its partnership with the Missouri Veterans Commission in 2019, the Chapter has participated in 16 estate planning clinics, executing more than 1,200 legal documents for veterans and their families. The estimated value of these pro bono services exceeds $660,000.
Supporting Local Families and Caregivers
On August 6, 2026, Chapter members partnered with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri to host a Relative Caregiver Clinic. Volunteer members assisted individuals within the community to complete the Missouri Relative Caregiver Affidavit. This affidavit provides an important legal tool for families caring for children outside of a formal guardianship relationship by allowing eligible relatives to authorize medical treatment and enroll children in school when they are unable to obtain a parent's consent.
Commitment Beyond the Courtroom
In addition to these legal clinics, ACC STL members regularly collaborate with local nonprofits to meet community needs beyond legal representation. This includes volunteering with Operation Food Search and other service initiatives that combine professional networking with meaningful community impact.
