"Best-Selling author Roger Grubbs reveals his motivation for becoming a writer…we were blown away by what we learned".
MILLSBORO, Del. - s4story -- Mr. Grubbs is a firm believer that each one of us is in this world for a reason. For some this seems to remain a mystery as many troubled souls wander aimlessly through life, searching out the meaning behind their existence.
In speaking with police officers, he found that many of them were victims of a crime. So, they chose this profession in hopes of setting things right. Quite often these are the most dedicated lawmen on the planet.
Many doctors choose that profession because they or someone close to them has an incurable disease. In hopes of finding a cure, they work long hours and become some of the most dedicated doctors in the world.
Now let's consider the reason behind many choosing to become a writer. For Roger it was an easy decision. He and his family became the victims of crime and corruption in a small town in Alabama. After filing police reports to no avail, they were forced to leave and move hundreds of miles away to the much larger city of Orlando.
In doing so they left behind all their passions. Yet, there was no other choice. Blood tests ordered by the police department showed they had been ingesting DDT which is a pesticide that had been banned long ago. With the suspicious death of their private investigator, this family decided it was time to leave the criminal activity behind. Roger, along with his wife and two young children were showing symptoms that are consistent with insecticide poisoning.

After arriving in Orlando with little more than the shirts on their backs, Roger decided he would reveal this criminal activity through his writing. His objective was to expose this corruption in hopes of stopping it and keeping it from happening to others. The name of the book is "for the Victims". After printing more than 6000 copies and distributing them through Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Staples, nothing was done to stop the guilty from further harassing this family of four.
While the criminals continued to walk free, something good came from all of this. Mr. Grubbs has since written 68 novels and 54 screenplays for movies with more planned in the future. Would Roger have chosen to become a novelist/screenwriter if this had not happened to his family? It is very doubtful, and Mr. Grubbs is committed to writing stories of good vs. evil to show that in the end good always wins out.
