Bosco Tech to Host Commencement Exercises on June 3

--Under Secretary of the U.S. Army Mr. Mario Diaz, a Tech Alumnus, to Serve as Keynote Speaker
ROSEMEAD, Calif. - s4story -- Don Bosco Technical Institute (Bosco Tech) will host commencement exercises for the graduating class of 2023 on Saturday, June 3, at 5 p.m.
This year's keynote speaker is Mario Diaz. A 1986 graduate of Bosco Tech's Metallurgy program, Diaz is the 21st Under Secretary of the U.S. Army. As the Deputy Under Secretary of the Army, he is the principal civilian senior advisor to the Secretary of the Army and Under Secretary of the Army. In his role, he has management oversight of civilian senior leader assignments, the Army Test & Evaluation Executive, and other areas of policy and strategy as identified by Army senior leadership.
Graduating senior David Ceballos will serve as the Frank R. Seaver Valedictorian. Ceballos, who was named 2023 Edison Scholar and Amazon Future Engineer, is also a recipient of the Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship. He will attend USC where he will study Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science.
During commencement exercises, Tech alumni will form a reception line to congratulate and welcome each graduate into the school's vibrant Alumni Association. The long-standing tradition annually brings together alumni from across the decades to honor the graduating seniors.

"We're exceptionally proud of the class of '23 and of our alumni," said Tech President Memo Gutierrez, a graduate of the class of 1983. "Our hardworking graduates have excelled in their studies, extracurricular activities, and athletic endeavors, and the encouragement they receive from Tech alumni, successful men like Mario Diaz, is both inspirational and motivating. Having earned acceptance to colleges and universities across the country, our newest graduates will most definitely leave their mark as well. We're looking forward to hearing of their future achievements."
The only Catholic applied science high school of its kind in the U.S., Bosco Tech uniquely combines a rigorous college-preparatory program with STEM-based studies. The innovative approach allows students to exceed university admissions requirements while completing extensive integrated coursework in one of six technology and engineering fields.
